Residential Care for MI

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that significantly disturbs a person’s thought process, perception, emotional responsiveness, and social interaction. While the symptoms and severity of Schizophrenia may vary among individuals, it is generally a persistent and disabling condition. However, medication and rehabilitation have been shown to be effective in treating many patients with Schizophrenia. Unfortunately, approximately 20-25% of patients do not respond to treatment. This resistance to treatment is often due to persistent negative symptoms, noncompliance with medication, negative emotions expressed by family members, and poor social support.

Who takes care after me?

Moreover, residential care is often favored for patients with Schizophrenia due to the trend towards nuclear families, where siblings and elderly parents may be unable to provide adequate care for their loved ones. This can lead to concerns about who will take care of them in the future. Therefore, it is important to provide optimal care and support to individuals with Schizophrenia to improve their quality of life and reduce the burden on their families.

In our Athma Mind City, we utilize the Psychosocial Model of Rehabilitation (PMR) to help individuals with mental disorders achieve their maximum level of independent functioning in the community. This process involves enhancing individual competencies and making environmental changes.
